This is a training course for yoga teachers comprised of six seminar days spread across six months, in Harrogate with Swami Vedantananda.

This is a well-structured course on Yoga Nidra that gives a sound basis for teachers to teach it. It will also give teachers the opportunity to experience the practice of Yoga Nidra for themselves.

Objectives

To fully explore and discover the practice from experience
To understand the theory and science behind it.
To look at the potential of Yoga Nidra in various situations.

Suitable for teachers from other traditions who have discovered Yoga Nidra and wish to learn and understand more about it, thus enabling them to teach the practice.

Satyananda trained teachers, those closely associated with Satyananda Yoga, trained assessors and those working in areas of special needs. Must already be an active yoga teacher.

Teaching methods - lectures, practice, experience, group discussions, plenary sessions, group work.

Assessment - ongoing assessment throughout the course, home study and assignments, including recording of the stages of the practice leading to at least one complete practice. Delivering of parts of the practice during the course.

Qualification - a certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course qualifying the participants to teach Yoga Nidra.

Cost

£425. A deposit of £200 to be paid on acceptance to the course. Balance to be paid by 3rd June 2019.

Course requirements

Attend all seminars - a total of six day-seminars making a total of 36 contact hours.
Do the daily practice as set
Complete the home study assignments as required. Homework will comprise at least five hours study between seminars and daily practice of Yoga Nidra during the course.

About Swami Vedantanada Saraswati

She began practicing yoga at the age of sixteen and studied with several teachers before meeting her Guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, in 1983 and was initiated into poorna sannyasa in 1985.

Since that turning point in her life she has taught yoga in many areas of society, specialising in teaching yoga to children, in-service training and teacher training. She is a respected and much loved yoga teacher whose humour shines through her love of living yoga. Her teaching is recognised by its practical and down to earth approach.

Swami Vedantananda is currently living in Portugal where she offers a variety of yoga and meditation retreats.
