Nada Yoga with Krishnadhyanam

  • Satyananda Yoga Centre 70 Thurleigh Road London, England, SW12 8UD United Kingdom (map)

Exact dates and times listed below.

Krishnadhyanam (KD) will be returning from India, where he is studying dhrupad with renowned singers, the Gundecha Brothers, at the beginning of April. He will be running a six month nada yoga/dhrupad course at SYC London.

What is Nada Yoga?

Nada yoga is a journey using sound and vibration which takes us to a place of deep and profound connection with ourselves and with others. Dhrupad is the oldest form of Indian classical singing, derived from the Sam Veda. Whilst it can be entertaining it is first and foremost a meditative exploration into sound.

During the course you will be introduced to the sounds of the Sanskrit language and it’s beautiful Devanagari script. You will learn and practise vedic chanting and begin the fascinating journey into dhrupad, which beautifully expresses the kundalini journey from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

You will learn more about the chakras and sing in harmony, as in western music, and sing in unison, as in Indian music. We will sing together and there will be opportunity to sing alone to develop your own voice. You will experience how sound vibrates and resonates in different parts of the body.
