Meditation Course, Harrogate

Across four months a total of four Sunday seminars, 9.30am - 5pm

This is a well-structured course to yoga practitioners and yoga teachers that will develop skills and experience for a variety of meditation practices.

You will deepen you personal practice, fully explore and discover a variety of meditation techniques and the different stages of each practice, and understand the theory and science behind the practice of meditation.

Suitable for yoga practitioners who wish to learn mediation techniques for personal practice, yoga teachers from other traditions who wish to learn more about meditation through personal practice, as well as Satyananda Yoga trained teachers who wish to revise and expand their teaching of meditation and Satyananda Yoga trained assessors.

A willingness to learn the techniques and practise daily to take personal sadhana to a deeper level is required.

Course content

Practical - each day will begin with an asana, pranayama and Yoga Nidra class. A selection of meditation practices will be taught - minimum 4 hours – not including home practice

Theory - the theory of meditation, how to systematically practice each technique given, the benefits of meditation

Home assignments - a daily meditation practice of 15 – 25 minutes will be given plus an optional asana and pranayama 20 - 25 minute class. Keeping a personal diary of experiences, progress, changes, mood swings etc. that may occur during the course. Hand in a general review of experiences of the practice, challenges, likes and dislikes

£280. A deposit of £80 to be paid on acceptance to the course. Balance to be paid by 30th June 2019.

About Swami Vedantanada Saraswati

She began practicing yoga at the age of sixteen and studied with several teachers before meeting her Guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, in 1983 and was initiated into poorna sannyasa in 1985.

Since that turning point in her life she has taught yoga in many areas of society, specialising in teaching yoga to children, in-service training and teacher training. She is a respected and much loved yoga teacher whose humour shines through her love of living yoga. Her teaching is recognised by its practical and down to earth approach.

Swami Vedantananda is currently living in Portugal where she offers a variety of yoga and meditation retreats.
