Integrating Yoga into Daily Life
A daily practice is an empowering way to connect with yourself and maintaining that practice can be challenging. This course and fellow practitioners setting out on the same journey will support you to maintain your practice in the midst of everyday living.
The course will systematically develop over an eight-week period of fortnightly day workshops concluding with a weekend residential retreat. It includes progressively structured resources to support daily home practice of asana, pranayama, meditation and journal keeping. We will establish practice and contemplation alongside an exploration of yoga philosophy.

Poornam has been teaching in the Satyananda yoga tradition since 1993. She is a warm, sensitive and very experienced teacher. She has a deeply felt, lived and underlying vision of yoga as a way of life.
After 10 years of extensive training and immersion in many aspects of teaching at Satyananda ashrams in India and at SYC London, Poornam became Director of Teaching at PadmaSamBhava in Llandeilo under the guidance of Swami Niranjanananda. She helped run all aspects of the centre and taught a wide spectrum of yoga and meditation techniques and practices for 15 years. She has a particular expertise in mantra, raja, and nada yogas.
Poornam has also worked as a Montessori teacher over two decades and as part of this has introduced yoga to many children. She also worked as a mental health yoga course tutor for 13 years. She continues to deliver both Yoga Lifestyle and Deepening Practice courses. These courses which have been very well received have greatly helped many practitioners and teachers to more fully integrate yoga into their daily lives. Poornam is now living and establishing teaching within the Devon community.

When I, Poornam teach this course I approach it as pilgrimage. I prepare months in advance and always feel we are on the internal journey of climbing our own Himalaya. I seek to meet the challenges and obstacles as they arise and to keep the group moving until we have safely reached our destination. We celebrate, descend and resolve to keep the journey and practice alive.
