with Satyananda Yoga Teachers
This is a wonderful practice with many benefits. It is especially good for alleviating many digestive problems and purifies both the physical and energy body. It involves drinking many rounds of warm, saline water and practising a series of postures to move the water through the digestive system. It is followed by kunjal (regurgitation of water) and neti (nasal cleansing).
After doing the full practice (poorna) you must follow a strict diet for one month. A shorter practice (laghoo) is also an option where there are no dietary restrictions.
Please download and read all the attached information BEFORE applying. To apply download and complete the application form and return it to the yoga centre with full payment. Cost £35.
Please note advance booking and full payment is essential, this practice is not held at the London Centre.

Shankhaprakshalana residential weekend
Patanjali Yoga Centre, Battle, East Sussex
Friday 19 September @ 6pm to Sunday 21 September @ 11am
Experience the fullness of this powerful cleansing practice by taking a weekend out to rejuvenate in a quiet and supportive environment.
There will be a light dinner and mantra chanting on the Friday evening, with shankhaprakshalana, kunjal and neti the following morning. The rest of Saturday will be spent in quietness, allowing the full benefits of the practice to be experienced.
Expect yoga nidra, films, painting, light karma yoga, kirtan, and, of course, a few wonderful meals of khichari.
Sunday morning will begin with mantra, a gentle yoga class and a shankhaprakshalana-friendly breakfast.
We aim to finish by 11am on Sunday morning.
Accommodation is in simple, single rooms with separate bathroom blocks and toilets for ladies and gents. If you prefer, you can bring your own tent and pitch up in the woods.
Mobile phone use of any sort won’t be permitted (a blessing for some and a curse for others).
This programme is for those doing the full shankhaprakshalana practice only. You’ll need to complete a health questionnaire and be familiar with the five asanas. First timers are welcome, but you must get in touch and discuss your situation first.
This practice is only for those who are regular yoga practitioners.
Suggested donation £108; this includes accommodation and all meals.
