Pranayama Sadhana Course
with Swami Vedantananda
Pranayama Sadhana is a six day course to develop personal practice, experience and understanding of this important aspect of Yoga Sadhana
About the Course
This Course is designed to bring Pranayama to the forefront of our Yoga practice and our lives.
Pranayama is the expansion of Prana. We breathe on average 21,600 times a day (most of these are unconscious breaths). Yogis believe our lifespan is measured in breaths rather than years. The techniques we practice in Pranayama are conscious breaths and therefore not included in our lifespan allocation. So improving our awareness and quality of breathing will bring us better health, more energy and longevity.
Sadhana is the practice we do to bring us in contact with the rhythms of nature and reconnect us to the Divine within. Over the six days the Course will explore different Pranayamas, Mudras and Bandhas which will deepen personal sadhana, experience and understanding of the techniques.
Pranayama Sadhana is a practice based Course with some theory and discussion. A daily sadhana of 30 minutes will be given for home practice. Recommended reading relating to the practices will also be given.
The Course is appropriate for established practitioners of Yoga and will be of great benefit to Yoga Teachers.
