The London Satyananda Yoga Centre Getting started... Select a topic to get started I'm new
to yoga We offer classes and courses suitable for beginners or students who may not have practised yoga for a while and feel a bit rusty. We encourage regular weekly attendance so that you gain a solid, methodical foundation in Satyananda yoga practices. If you've done yoga before, we still recommend that you start off in a class below your current level. This will allow you to learn key Satyananda yoga practices, such as pawanmuktasana series and yoga nidra, plus pranayama and meditation techniques which many yoga schools do not teach at all. We offer a range of weekend events and BWY-recognised in service training days, suitable for qualified yoga teachers. If you are from another yoga tradition, you may also be interested in learning the cleansing practices (shatkarma), including shankhaprakshalana (full intestinal cleanse) which we conduct in Spring and Autumn each year. See the latest paper newsletter for details. Yoga is wonderful to do at this time in your life. It can ease discomfort due to the extra weight you are carrying, teach you techniques that enable you to stay calm and relaxed, and help you to focus on your pregnancy. See our weekly timetable for timings and costs. We offer yoga classes for children aged 3-5 years and 6-10 years. Children's yoga is taught by Lilamurti, who has many years experience in this area. See our weekly timetable for timings and costs. We offer gentle yoga classes for people who may have conditions such as MS or ME, or who are looking for gentle stretching & relaxation to help relieve stress. Gentle yoga is taught by Lilamurti. See our weekly timetable for timings and costs. Kirtan (chanting) is held on the last Friday of the month at 7.30pm, free of charge, all welcome!
